Week 4: Speaker Series and Studio Time

For this week's lecture, three people went to  David Boyd from New Zealand Post will be talking about 'Customer Service Design: Why What How' while Shannen went to Ned Wenlock, self-employed animator/illustrator will talk about his career. In addition, each group received a lecture from Stella Robertson will be talking about 'Navigating Not Knowing or Managing Creativity'.

Once again when we regrouped we discussed the interesting points of each lecture then moved into a discussion with the current issues that Mr. Four Eyes has as a brand. One being that they see themselves as a "cheap alternative" for glasses while at the same time from a brand perspective, their retail prices place them on a "brand premium" end.

Karl approached us and talked about how we had to first find out for ourselves Mr. Four Eye's "brand essence" so that we could move on into promoting them or making packaging that is suitable for their identity. He emphasised the importance on giving the client "what they need over what they want".
