Existing Packaging

This Packing is a great way or protecting something with a solid form that is not very fragile. It is minimal and cost effective by only using one sheet of cardboard and tape to hold it together. Although I don’t think it is very suitable for a glasses case as it lacks structure.

The net design for this package is cool, the geometric form works well. The collapsible design would be an issue but would be cool to muck around with.

This modular packing shows the great use of flat net packaging that can be folded up by anyone. It looks like the pattern can be extended to allow for more slots. The shape also suits glasses and I think it would work well for temporary trial packaging, as it is cost effective and easy to assemble. Also fits in with Mr Foureyes quirky image.

This mulched up and molded packaging is eco friendly, even though it is for one use it can be recycled down and used again to make the same packaging. Structurally it is a strong cylinder form.

The idea of using layered corrugated cardboard is a whole new look on such a typical packaging concept. Structurally it is very strong. It is also modular and can cater for any shapes. Although it does create some waste as it is cardboard it can easily be recycled.

Again this molded mulched paper packaging is aesthetically pleasing paired with the old styled stamped band it altogether works extremely will.

This packaging is for a company called Belroy wallets. This simple stitched cardboard sleeve fits in with there product and frames it nicely. This company is similar to Mr foureyes in a way that they are small and keen on high quality affordable products.

The use of rubber bands or something similar to hold the cardboard halves together is a cost effective and clever idea for something that could make manufacture difficult.

The use of thin timber to create an organic shape for a glasses case is a new look on the typical boring looking case. The text which looks like it has been branded onto the timber adds a quirky cared look it the whole case.

This packaging for the trial glasses is cool use and has a clean crisp look. The small finishing details like the printed eyes under each box add something extra. Although this space could be used as a place to express the product more.

This slightly more expensive container is a cool example of the high quality craft from using automatic operations like CNC machines. The threads joint is a good and secure way of holding the lid on and the structure would be extremely strong. Although this would be expensive to manufacture it would defiantly be something the consumer would take not of and look after.

This paper sleeve that is around this glasses case is a finishing that adds some class and a personal touch you could customize this from consumer to consumer.
