Group meetings on the holidays

August 24

During the first meeting of the holidays we had a discussion on what Mr FourEyes want and what their brand needs. They reiterate that packing is something they both need and want as the current one they are using is generic and plain. When we inspected their newly launched website, we found that the imagery they used did not match what they pitched their brand to be. It was too clinical and had a similar visual identity to regular optometrist shops. We decided as a group to touch on Mr FourEyes brand identity and also how to market it so that it could reach its target audience.

We created a Pinterest board collecting a variety of images we believed better reflected Mr FourEyes brand values. We felt that Mr Foureyes should include imagery of recognisable Wellington (initially) locations. This would be a strategy to reach its target audience as they recognise familiar locations and therefore align their perception of Mr FourEyes with their brand values of transparency, value, style and community.

In this group meeting we set up our google document for the written content of the dossier. This was crucial to our work process as we all had different schedules concerning availability. The document allowed us to write and edit content for the Strategic Proposal Plan. Initially, we divided the writing between group members.

Eventually we refined the text by editing what each person wrote to what we felt communicated our ideas better.

During this group meeting we went on a little field trip to Wellington to take pictures of the kind of imagery we were trying to convey in our strategic proposal plan. Some of the locations we visited were Fidel's at Cuba, the Bucket Fountain, City Gallery and the docks by the Oriental Bay

September 7

This was a brief group meeting as some of us had class on. We did an initial set up of the dossier in Indesign. We also made a list of things we had to achieve by the next day before presentation.

All these meetings were arranged through our facebook group that we've been using from the beginning of the course.
